Rates Of Exchange - Useless
Location: Russia
A young talented band named Rates Of Exchange doing a nice cover version of Useless. It's a good live version, but I hope that Ilya and his band send me sometime a better studio version.
Rates of Exchange is an indie band from Moscow. It was formed in 2001, in the melancholy of post-communist urban landscape. The style comes from the reneissance of neo-romantic electronic music of 80's and british guitar pop-rock of nineties. The name for the band is originally taken from Malcolm Bradbury's novel (1983) about fantastic travelling across non-existent socialist country in Eastern Europe.
This cover of Useless was performed in Justo club in the july of 2006. Super model Natalia Vodianova was one of the people in the front row who witnessed this concert alive - this actually had a big influence on the way 'rates' performed this song.
The band members are:
ILYA - vocals, guitars, synths
ALEX - keys, synths and vocals
TIM - bass guitar, bass amp, effect pedals for bass guitar, tuner, instrument cables and hardcore screwing
ARTËM - drums and percussion
