Dreamaker - Enjoy The Silence
Genre: Metal
Location: Spain Normally Enjoy The Silence is not nearly one of my favorite Depeche Mode songs at all. But this version of Dreamaker, with this thundering double bass really kicks ass. And I loved this one to be on the project DRC. Special thanks to spain again. The band received a recording deal from Arise Records for two albums in September of that year, and proceeded to record their first album - Human Device. It was released throughout Europe, Japan and in a few Spanish-speaking countries in early 2004. Last Updated ( Wednesday, 13 August 2008 19:39 ) Variola - Never Let Me Down Again
Genre: Rock
Location: Hungary Never Let Me Down Again is a cover classic. Also the band Variola thinks so. Here is their version. The band was formed in Szeged (South-East Hungary) in 1988, their name was Variola Vera that time, which came from a B-class horror movie. After some changes in the line-up Variola became a popular Hungarian underground band. That time alternative/rock acts in Hungary had lots of opportunity to play club shows even in small towns and these were usually packed with the hungry audience. They often gigged with the most popular acts from the scene (Tankcsapda, Kispál Ès a Borz, PUF), but the best friendship was established with Sexepil, the first Hungarian act played on MTV. Around 1990-1995 Variola played hundreds of concerts and recorded some demos, but they never released any albums, their lack of money barred they efforts to make a professional material. In the mid '90-s most of the Hungarian underground clubs closed their doors and without an album it was impossible to play in the big festivals, so Variola disbanded temporarily. Location: Germany Today I recieved another fine cover version from my home country. The band named The Jinxs and they supporting this project with their version of Never Let Me Down Again. The Jinxs founded in 1989. The inspiration for choosing the name of the band was given by the song “Jinx” from the British punk band Peter and The Test Tube Babies. Within the years the band played over 600 shows in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia and advanced to a well known band in Germany. The single stars (based on the album – Whatever They Say – Sony Music -1997) increased on place 64 in the German airplay charts and entered on 103 in the German media control charts. Givi Sheroziya talks about the time of recording Dangerous:" With my friend Evgenie Dzega (Sacred) we were going to publish a russian fan's tribute. By means of the internet have collected tracks, have agreed with a record company. But the record company wanted 2000$ for mastering the disk. Present my salary was 15 $ in a month. Genre: Rock
Location: Germany The ball gets rolling, baby. Mophead performing a Depeche Mode cover of People Are People in a rocking kind of way. It was a dark and rainy day, when the four Mopheads met the first time to form a new, minatory band. A thunderstorm was roaring over the country of westfalia and brought diluvial rain with blasting thunder over the people. The four already knew each other from the past, in wich they had celebrated legendary shows as the famous rockband "Cosmic Degree" from 1993 to 2001. They had already seen small and big stages und had supported many bands like L7, H-Blockx, Thumb, Die Sterne, Die goldenen Zitronen or Chumbawamba. But on this historical day Franky (Frank Hilbert), Lemmy (Marc Dönnebrink), Johnny (Mario Dönnebrink) and Eddie (Boris Korthoff) decided to form a new glorios band as "the neighbours of the beast", as MOPHEAD.
